Energy Management Action Plans
For an organisation to truly become energy efficient, it must adopt a holistic energy management programme. Energy Management requires such a wide range of resources, that for it to operate effectively it needs a comprehensive plan for guidance.

Energy Solutions Action Plans
Energy Solutions will work with organisations to develop a simple and concise energy policy. We then help organisations develop a five-year action plan to support this policy.

First, the key people who will form the "energy management team" are assembled. We do a detailed assessment of the current energy management practices of the organisation and review the strengths and weaknesses. Then, the future goals and objectives for the organisation are quantified.

We then develop a plan of how the organisation is going to reach those goals. The five-year action plan lists a number of recommended tasks and projects. Each task or project details the suggested timeframe and completion date, the rationale, the expected results, a step-by-step outline of the actions required and anticipated budget requirements.

Cost
Like all Energy Solutions services, our level of involvement is tailored to suit the client, which means the cost will vary. However, for the action plan to be as effective as possible it needs to be kept simple - it is not a technical document. In general an action plan will cost about $5,000, but is dependent on exactly what the client wants.

Who needs an action plan
Most organisations do not have any energy management programme, or it is very unstructured. All organisations can benefit from developing an energy management action plan. Obviously, there is more importance for organisations with high energy expenditure to manage their energy use wisely.

Organisations developing an environmental policy should get an energy management action plan. Energy efficiency is vital in developing a sustainable organisation. Energy management is becoming more and more important as the need to reduce carbon emissions increases.
