Project Management
Once potential energy savings have been identified they need to be acted upon. Normally, organisations are left to organise the execution of energy savings measures themselves. However, it may be more beneficial for Energy Solutions to do this on their behalf.
Energy Solutions project implementation
Our experience in the optimisation of building controls means we can not only identify areas where energy savings can be made, but we can also specify and coordinate the adjustments ourselves. We then use our loggers and meters to monitor the performance of the projects and verify that the savings have been made and the building is operating as efficiently as possible.

When appropriate we use sub-contractors to carry out the necessary electrical or mechanical work. We will organise all these jobs and ensure they are delivered satisfactorily for the client.
In virtually all projects we are involved with, we will provide a guarantee that we will implement cost-effective energy savings worth more than our fees. More...

Cost
The cost of project management varies greatly. There are no rules of thumb for costing a project because each project is so different. It depends on a number of things: how many individual projects are involved; how complicated the projects are; and how much capital expenditure is required.

Who needs project implementation
Any facilities that have had an energy audit carried out and are struggling to find the time or expertise to carry out the energy saving measures would benefit from using Energy Solutions to do it for them.

Without project implementation an energy audit is greatly diminished in value. An energy audit only identifies potential energy savings; it does not deliver them.

Case Studies
Energy Solutions has recently expanded its services to include implementation of the energy savings we identify. Here is an example project:
Victoria University of Wellington
During 2003/04 Energy Solutions completed energy audits on 17 of Victoria University's largest buildings.

Following on from those audits, Energy Solutions was then contracted to manage the implementation of the most cost effective energy savings measures. Over a few months 30 individual projects were organised on behalf of the University.

Some of the projects were very quick and simple solutions, while others took more time and co-ordination. Over $60,000/yr of energy cost savings were captured from the project. The energy savings included installing time clocks, changing control settings, daylight switching, removing excess lamps and much more.
"The energy audits were useful from many perspectives. The benefits extended beyond the direct savings through energy reductions by identifying efficiencies in maintenance and general 'housekeeping' that would otherwise have been overlooked. The energy projects themselves were executed extremely well by Energy Solutions with a significant amount of work being done outside normal working hours to minimise disruption to students."
